THE JERSEY JOURNAL, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 1972 age Angela Plans Mrs. Marie Caiezza, Faithful, To Subpoena Well-Liked Crossing Guard Gov. Reagan SAN JOSE, Calif. (UPI) Apgela Davis, arguing a motion for state funds to aid her defense, said yesterday that Gov. Ronald Reagan was responsible for a "conspiracy" against her and would be subpoenaed as a witness during her murder, kidnap and conspiracy trial.

Six demonstrators were arrested outside the guarded courthouse while Miss Davis; acting as her own co made a 45-minute plea for money. The arrests brought to 25 the number of persons taken into custody during her last two hearings on defense motions prior to the start of her trial. Miss Davis argued that because Reagan would be called as a witness, funds were needed for her own attorneys' legal expenses rather than having the court appoint a public defender who would be afraid to "bite the hand that feeds him." Denying the motion, she said, would be "flying in the face" of the adversary nature of a trial in which the prosecution has unlimited funds for "development and fabrication of the case" and the defense has. limited funds. Superior Court Judge Richard E.

Arnason took the motion under advisem*nt, along with one challenging a jury list. He continued the case until today. J. McNarney, Was Ike's Sucessor LA JOLLA, Calif. (UPI) Retired Air Force Gen.

Mrs. Caiezza, a school crossing guard, will be missed by hundreds of children who pass the corner of West Side Avenue and Broadway, her duty post for five years. As news of her death spread throughout the neighborhond, disbelief filled the air. "It's a changed place," said one store proprietor. "No one can believe that Marie is gone.

Even the children are set back." A parent, accompanying her children to school, said one 4- year-old pre-schooler spoke to the new crossing guard yesterday saying, "You're not my Marie!" She kept a doctor's appointment in the afternoon.

In the late afternoon, according to a brother-in-law who lives at the same address, her handbag, completely intact, was returned to the house by two unidentified women, who said they found it on the street. Worried because she wasn't home and because the purse had been found, he notified the police. Some eight hours 1 later, she was identified at the morgue.
